Thousands of potentially faulty Ducati motorcycles recalled in the US

At least 1,433 recent Ducati motorcycles in the U.S. are being recalled by the manufacturer due to a production error that may cause harm to riders during operation, an article of Motorcycle.com reported on October 7.

In the recall papers forwarded to the National Highway Traffic Safety Administration (NHTSA), Ducati stated the rear wheel of the affected motorcycles may lose power during operation if the drive pulley of the primary belt malfunctions. Reports said the problem could happen due to an improperly tightened nut in the final drive pulley. The Italian motorcycle company investigated the issue in September before they decided to issue a recall. Dealers are expected to address the issue by replacing the defective washer with a much stronger one that they will tighten properly.

Individuals are at a high risk of sustaining serious or fatal injuries when the motorcycle they are riding is involved in an accident. However, if this happens to you in Iowa, the lawyers at the LaMarca Law Group, P.C., may be able to offer you legal assistance.
