Nearly 830K Ford and Lincoln automobiles recalled in the US

Ford Motors and Lincoln Motors recently issued a recall to 828,053 vehicles due to complaints that its door latches may fail during operations, an article of CNBC reported on August 4.

Reports said the recall was issued after the auto manufacturer became aware of one accident and one injury potentially caused by the side door latch. The recall reportedly affects previous models of Ford C-MAX, Escape, Focus, Mustang, Lincoln MKC, and some recent models of Ford Transit Connect. Most of the potentially faulty vehicles were sold in the U.S., but 61,371 were sold in Mexico. Ford will address the issue by replacing both broken and non-broken latches of affected vehicles for free. The recall is mainly targeting vehicles that are driven in states with high temperatures, a factor Ford believes could trigger the problem.
