Bettendorf Police said the accident happened at around 3:30 p.m. when the man was attacked by a mixed breed Rottweiler and Pitbull. The man reportedly shielded his dog out of fear his dog might be harmed. The victim was rushed to Trinity Hospital in Bettendorf after the stray dog bit his face, where he sustained bites and punctures on his nose. The man’s dog, on the other hand, did not sustain any injuries in the reported attack.

Bettendorf Police said the stray dog is described to be brown or black in color, short-haired, and weighs about 75-80 pounds.

According to University spokesperson Tom Moore, the patient sustained minor injuries after a pre-cast concrete panel lifted by a crane fell through the window. According to reports from the Mason City Police, a pickup truck driven by 47-year-old Ronald Leerar of Clear Lake was heading westbound on 15^th Street around 10 a.m. when he pulled in front of another car when attempting to turn left into a driveway at the Southport shopping center. In making this turn, an eastbound vehicle driven by 17-year-old Avarie Dana-Jensen struck the rear of Leerar’s pickup.

Researchers and scientists at the University of Iowa are conducting a study in order to determine the developmental skills of children in regards to operating farming machinery. The deadly accident took place around 3:30 a.m., and the driver of the semi truck fled the scene of the accident. Authorities said that the pedestrian had pulled over on the shoulder of the highway and was walking towards the back of his car when he was hit by the oncoming vehicle. It is unclear at this time why he had pulled over in the first place.
