What Is Negligence?
Negligence is a term describing someone’s failure to show reasonable care towards another. That is, when a person’s action or inaction results in someone else’s injury, the first person may be guilty of negligence. Negligence is used to establish fault in personal injury cases, and is considered a type of tort. A lawyer will attempt to prove the defendant’s negligence when arguing a personal injury case.
