A pedestrian was lying in the street in Des Moines during the early morning hours on Tuesday when her legs were run over by a patrol vehicle.
The incident took place near Stone Lane and 10th Street. The officer was responding to a call that came from a concerned individual regarding the woman lying in an alleyway. The officer was searching for the woman, but did not see her until his vehicle made contact with her legs.
The woman only sustained minor injuries, and was taken to a nearby hospital to be treated. The officer stated that the woman was intoxicated at the time of the incident. No charges are expected to be filed in this case, and an investigation is still being conducted.

An 87-year-old Clear Lake, Iowa man ran into a woman with his pick-up truck at an intersection last Tuesday morning causing her to suffer fatal injuries.
The man was passing through the Main Avenue and Fourth Street when he struck the pedestrian who was walking in the intersection. The 73-year-old woman sustained numerous injuries, largely pertaining to her head. Paramedics brought her to a local hospital so that doctors could attempt to save her life.
The woman died the same day she was admitted into the hospital. Police have plans to recreate the pedestrian accident scene, in order to determine fault in the fatal collision. At this time, the driver has not been charged with a crime.
