Sioux City pays $6,500 in a settlement with woman attacked by police dog

Sioux City recently settled a lawsuit and paid a woman who was attacked by a police dog in 2009.

A settlement to pay Keisha Davis $6,500 was approved by the city council on March 25. According to a suit filed by Davis in December 2011 in Woodbury County District Court, she was at her home in December 2009 when four police came to arrest her then-husband Kevin Davis. Keisha Davis sustained injuries after a dog was released by Officer Noltze. She later filed charges against former police Chief Joe Frisbie, Chief Doug Young, and Officer Lori Noltze.

Sioux City attorney Nicole Jensen-Harris was not available for comment as of press time.
