According to the Sequoyah County Times, “A medical negligence lawsuit has been filed against Vian Nursing Home and its stockholders/owners in Sequoyah County District Court.”
Raymond Foreman lived at the home from December 2006 to July 2008. When Foreman died on July 20, according to the Sequoyah County Times, “his nasal and oral cavities were allegedly infested with maggots, causing him to suffer aspiration pneumonia.”
According to the lawsuit, not only was the standard of car violated, there was not an adequate number of staff to provide care. The lawsuit seeks over $75,000 in compensation for damages.
