Four high school students in Columbia Township, Ohio lost their lives in a car accident that occurred a few weeks ago near railroad tracks in the area.
The 17-year-old driver of the vehicle was traveling with four passengers, and decided to jump over the railroad tracks for fun. He drove 69 miles per hour over the tracks, causing his vehicle to fly five feet into the air and travel approximately 89 feet before landing. Once the vehicle landed, the driver tried to over correct, and ended up crashing into a tree, and rolling the car.
The accident claimed the lives of four of the individuals inside the vehicle. The sole survivor has no recollection of the accident. Police started an investigation into the accident right after it occurred, and they determined that drugs and alcohol did not play a role in the tragic accident, but excessive speeds were determined to have led directly to the incident.
