A collision between a truck and a van containing county jail inmates in Polk County resulted in four personal injuries, a report of KCCI 8 stated on October 26.
In the information received by Polk County Sheriff’s Office at 2:30 p.m., a truck and a jail transport van collided around 1985 NE 51st Place near the county jail. Reports confirmed that four of the nine inmates inside the van were treated for minor injuries they sustained. Initial investigations showed that the van was returning to the jail facility while the truck was coming out when the collision took place. The truck driver did not suffer injuries from the collision. The identities of all involved were withheld by authorities.
