Iowa woman refuses to stop car, passengers forced to jump

A Cedar Rapids woman is being held on a $6,000 cash-only bond after she was arrested for imprisoning two passengers in her vehicle last Friday morning. According to the two passengers, the 26-year-old driver offered the individuals a ride in her van to their desired destination around 2 a.m. Friday morning.

When the van reached the destination, there were conflicting views about the method of payment. One of the passengers agreed to pay the woman $10, but the other passenger refused to pay at all. The woman began enraged, and drove off with the men still inside her vehicle. As she was driving onto Interstate 80, the passengers became scared and called 9-1-1 to report the incident.

The men were forced to jump from the moving vehicle because they feared for their safety. Police were able to locate the driver based off of the passenger’s description, and pulled her over. Officers reported that the woman was drunk, and smelled of marijuana. She was arrested and charged with operating a vehicle while intoxicated, and false imprisonment.
