An 87-year-old Clear Lake, Iowa man ran into a woman with his pick-up truck at an intersection last Tuesday morning causing her to suffer fatal injuries.

The man was passing through the Main Avenue and Fourth Street when he struck the pedestrian who was walking in the intersection. The 73-year-old woman sustained numerous injuries, largely pertaining to her head. Paramedics brought her to a local hospital so that doctors could attempt to save her life.

The woman died the same day she was admitted into the hospital. Police have plans to recreate the pedestrian accident scene, in order to determine fault in the fatal collision. At this time, the driver has not been charged with a crime.
