Slip and fall lawsuit results in $7.5 million verdict

A slip and fall accident that took place in a Starbucks in 2008 has been settled in court.

A customer walking towards the pick-up counter at a San Diego Starbucks location slipped on a puddle of water on the floor and hit his head. The manager of the store had just mopped that area. The customer sued Starbucks for negligence of their property maintenance when his injuries caused him to take a leave of absence from work.

The case went to trial and after two and a half weeks, the jury reached a $7.5 million verdict in favor of the slip and fall victim.
