Four Des Moines women die after semi collision

A semi truck was traveling on Jordan Creek Parkway when it neglected to yield at a traffic signal and hit a car leaving Des Moines Golf and Country Club.

There were four elderly women occupying the vehicle that was hit. Two of the women died on impact and the other two women later succumbed to their injuries at a local hospital. The women had all been residents of a senior home called the Lodge of Ashworth.

The car was moved more than 75 feet from the point of impact in the car accident.

The driver of the semi sustained no serious injuries. Charges have yet to be filed in the case.

Our thoughts and prayers go out to the victims’ families and friends during this difficult time.
