Car dangles from bridge after crash in Iowa

A car crash in Hiawatha, Iowa on the Interstate 380 bridge caused one car to be left dangled off of the side of the bridge.

The accident occurred as the traffic was backed up on the east side of the bridge and a van waited to turn left through the traffic. One motorist paused to let the van fit through the gap in traffic in order to cross the lanes.

The issue arose when a vehicle in the outside lane did not see the van and they collided. The car the went over a concrete barrier and through a chain link fence before landing nose first in the snow after falling from the bridge. Fire crews had to attach a chain to the vehicle to pull it up while emergency crews worked to clear the lanes.
