New Iowa law will require people under the age of 18 to wear seatbelt

Posted on June 21st, 2010 No Comments

A new law in Iowa will require people who are under the age of 18 and riding in the back seat of a vehicle to wear a seat belt or other restraint. The new law will go into effect starting July 1.

The new law will replace the old law that only required restraints for children under the age of 11. For people who violate the new law, they may receive a $50 fine. The driver may be required to pay the fine for children under the age of 14.

If you or anyone you know has been injured in a car accident, contact the Iowa car accident injury attorneys of LaMarca & Landry, P.C., at 877-327-2600.
