Iowa police officer injured in crash

A central Iowa police officer was injured in a car crash after losing control of his squad car.

The officer passed another officer who was doing a traffic stop when he began to driver erratically. The officer began to swerve in and out of traffic before hitting a car and a safety rail before going down a 40-foot embankment. The officer was transported to the hospital with non-life threatening injuries. The cause of the accident is still under investigation at this point.
