An accident in Iowa City between a car and a truck took the life of an 81-year-old man.

The 81-year-old man was driving in his car and struck the back of a semi-trailer on U.S. 61. The man was attempting to make a left turn into a private drive when he hit the Peterbilt semi-trailer. The man was then transported to the hospital where he later died of injuries suffered in the accident. The driver of the semi-trailer was injured in the accident.
