Two killed, three injured in auto accident

Two people died and three were injured in a two-car crash in Benton County Thursday. According to police reports, a 1994 Ford Tempo was driving west on 63rd Street when the driver drove through a stop sign.

Another car, a 2004 Chevrolet Suburban, was crossing the intersection at the same time and hit the Tempo on the passenger side. The driver and passenger of the Tempo were killed in the crash.

Police officer run over by attempted murder suspect

A police officer was run over Sunday while on duty. According to police reports, the police officer was responding to a fight when a car slammed into the officer's car.

When the car was hit, the officer was outside the car, and the hit knocked the officer to the ground. While on the ground, the police officer was run over by the other car.

According to police reports, the man driving the other car faced charges of attempted murder and nartcotics possession.
