A man from Vinton was seriously injured in a head-on collision Tuesday. According to police reports, the collision occured when a Subaru traveling west on U.S. Highway 6 crossed the center line and crashed into a dump truck heading east on the same highway.
While the Subaru was damaged, the dump truck rolled over into a ditch and caught fire. The dump truck driver, however, did not sustain serious injuries, while the Subaru driver was taken to a nearby hospital.

A man died in an accident when his truck hit a cow Tuesday. The man was driving down a road in southern Iowa when he hit the cow, which was walking in the middle of the road.
After hitting the cow, the truck swerved off the road and crashed into a creek, according to police reports.
